The Ka-32A’s rotors are positioned on top of the fuselage like most other helicopters (though instead of one main rotor there are two). This positioning allows it to operate from small spaces because the blades will not hit anything when turning around after landing or taking off. There is also no need for a tail rotor because the anti-torque vanes make it possible to counterbalance the rotor’s torque.
